Enrolling in Medicare

 Whether you’re turning 65 or transitioning from employer coverage, enrolling in Medicare involves a few key steps:


  • If you're turning 65:
    Start by signing up for Parts A & B through Social Security. From there, you’ll decide between Original Medicare (with a Medigap and Part D) or a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C). I’ll help you compare options and choose what’s right for your health and your budget.

  • Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15 – Dec 7):
    This is your chance to review or change your Medicare Advantage or Part D plan each year. I’ll help make sure you’re still in the best plan for your needs.

  • Special Enrollment:
    If you delayed Part B because you had employer coverage or experienced another qualifying event, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period — and I can guide you through it.

Enrolling in an ACA Marketplace Plan

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace offers health plans for individuals and families under 65. Here’s how enrollment works:


  • Create an account Create an account on Healthcare.gov or start through my ACA Enrollment Portal.
  • Submit your application, including income details to determine subsidy eligibility.
  • Compare plans side by side - I’ll make sure your doctors and medications are covered.
  • Select a plan and complete your enrollment with confidence.
Enrollment Deadlines:
  • Open Enrollment: Nov 1 – Jan 15 each year.
  • Special Enrollment: Within 60 days of a qualifying event (e.g., job loss, marriage, move).
