Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance)

Part A primarily covers inpatient services, including hospitalization, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health services. However, it comes with a deductible and additional costs, which is why many people consider supplemental options like Medigap or Advantage Plans to fill the coverage gaps.

Example of Part A Costs in 2024:

• Days 1–60 (each benefit period): $0 after meeting the $1,632 deductible.

• Days 61–90 (each benefit period): $408 per day.

• After Day 90: $816 per day for up to 60 lifetime reserve days.

• Beyond Lifetime Reserve Days: You are responsible for all costs.
